QS Gimba Mohammad Abdullahi FNIQS

Gimba Mohammad Abdullahi was born on February 21st, 1958, in Burutu, in the present-day Delta State. After his primary school education, he proceeded to Abdul Aziz Atta Memorial College (former GSS), Okene, where he wrote the West African School Certificate Examination (WASC) ‘O’ levels in 1977.

He attended the School of Basic Studies at Kwara State College of Technology, Ilorin, He wrote the University of Cambridge GCE ‘A’ levels in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 1979 and at the end of the ‘A’ level program. He gained admission to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and studied Quantity Surveying between 1979 to 1982. He also holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Construction Management also from Ahmadu Bello University.

Between 1982 to 1983, he had his National Youth Service (NYSC) at Maiduguri, during which He worked with Konti-sab Associates, a quantity surveying firm. He was offered an employment afterward by the firm. He joined Ajaokuta Steel Company Ltd in October 1983, working in the Civil Construction Department where He was actively involved alongside civil engineers in the construction of the steel plant. In October 1991, He resigned from his employment with the steel company and joined a private construction company for a brief period (1992-1994) as a director.

In 1994, He registered the firm of Gimba and Partners and served as the Principal Partner. Between 1997 and 2021, He was engaged as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Quantity Surveying Department of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also held key positions in the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors:  Chief Examiner and Chairman of the Examination Board, Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (2013-2017); Chairman, Kaduna Chapter of the NIQS (2008-2011); and He was on the Board of the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN).
