Senator Michael Ama Nnachi, Ph.D. is a distinguished Nigerian legislator, academic, and professional with a celebrated career in public service, consultancy, and national development. He served in the Nigerian Senate from 2019 to 2023, during which he held key leadership roles, including Chairman of the Senate Committee on Diaspora, Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Air Force, and Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Humanitarian Services. His contributions in these capacities significantly impacted foreign relations, national defense, and humanitarian interventions in Nigeria.
Senator Nnachi began his academic journey with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Quantity Surveying from Anambra State Polytechnic, Oko (now Federal Polytechnic, Oko). He proceeded to the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) where he earned his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. A seasoned professional in the construction and project management sector, Senator Nnachi is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FNIQS), Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of Nigeria [FCArb ], and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria [FCIMC]. He is also a Member of the Quantity Surveying Academy of Nigeria, reflecting his deep-rooted commitment to advancing professional standards in the industry.

As the Principal Partner of Man Associates Project Services Ltd, Senator Nnachi leads one of Nigeria’s reputable firms specializing in quantity surveying and project management consultancy across major infrastructure sectors.
He distinguished himself early in his career during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), where he was named Best Corps Member of the Year 1989, a feat that earned him automatic employment in the then Gongola State (now Adamawa and Taraba States).
Senator Nnachi has been a consistent contributor to professional development in the built environment. He has presented numerous papers at key conferences organized by the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) and the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN). He has also served as a Member of Accreditation Teams to Federal University of Technology, Minna and other institutions, helping to maintain and improve academic standards in quantity surveying education.
In 2008, he was appointed by the Federal Government of Nigeria as an Executive Member of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) under NEPAD, participating in Nigeria’s governance evaluation on a continental level.
Senator Michael Ama Nnachi is married to Mrs. Clara Ijeoma Nnachi, a highly accomplished finance and tax expert. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCITN), and a Member of the American College of Forensic Examiners, USA.
